Terms of use and disclaimer
How to use Arigato Japan: information can change, so check the official source before you travel, and what this site does and does not promise.
Arigato Japan is a travel guide to Japan built from official sources. These terms explain what you can rely on and what you should check yourself. By using the site you agree to them.
What does this site offer?
Information to help you plan a trip to Japan: prices, rules, opening hours, routes and seasons, with the source named on each page. It does not sell tickets, tours, accommodation or insurance.
Is the information always current?
No. Prices, opening hours, closures, booking rules and entry requirements change, often without notice. Each page names the sources it uses. Where a figure for the current season is unconfirmed, the page shows the last known figure and says so. Before you book or travel, check the official page of the operator, venue or authority.
Is this professional advice?
No. Nothing here is legal, immigration, medical, financial, insurance or safety advice. For visas and entry rules, use the Immigration Services Agency of Japan and your own embassy. In an emergency in Japan, call 110 for police or 119 for fire and ambulance.
How are prices and exchange rates handled?
Prices are shown as dollars first, with the yen amount in brackets. Dollar figures use about ¥155 to US$1 and are rounded. You pay in yen, so check the current rate.
What are we responsible for?
We take care to report our sources accurately, and we mark what we could not confirm. The site is provided as it is, without a guarantee that it is complete or error-free. To the extent the law allows, Arigato Japan is not liable for loss or inconvenience that results from relying on the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Who owns the names and content?
Names of companies, places, brands and products belong to their owners. Mentioning them does not imply affiliation or endorsement. The text on this site belongs to Arigato Japan. You may quote short extracts with credit to the site. Please do not copy or republish whole pages without written permission.
Does the site take money from the places it covers?
No. Pages are not paid placements. No ads or affiliate links run on the site today.
Can these terms change?
Yes. We may update them, and the version on this page applies from the moment it is published.
